Step 1
We admitted we were powerless over alcohol - that our lives had become unmanageable.

so step one was hard for me to admit. for years i tried to say that i was a drunk, i am irish, we drink a lot. just any thing to not admit it. i used to use meth for a long time and i went to rehab after. my rehab was 18 months. i grauated andand got into personal training. The drinking begun there. i was unhappy with my current situation. i had gotten my girlfriend pergnant in rehab. she moved in with me when i graduated rehab and she stayed at home. well to make a big storie short, that relashionship went down hill and she took my daughter and i started drinkin a bunch. been drinkin ever since feb 07. 11=12=11 is my soberity date now. this is day 5.

I believe it too, even tho I'm not AA
It was hard for me to admit too Geno - but I had 20 years behind me to prove it.

Step 1 can be a tough one.

Even though I knew I was having trouble with alcohol, I wasn't convinced I was an alcoholic. I kept having to do more "research."
