Today is the day

I decided that today will be the day that I try to quit drinking. I have never done this before and I am scared and having a bit of anxiety. I am thinking of attending a AA meeting tonight. I am scared.

Hi walktoremember - you took a hugh step in admitting that you need to stop.

Attend a meeting, post here, do whatever you need to so that you can stop drinking.

I finally took the plunge and am happy I did

You will find lots of support here if AA is not your thing right now. Stick with it and good luck, it's well worth it!!!

cool!Although I have done this before today is day one once again.I was recently in a.a.,. for four months.My life was soooo much better then.I hope you try it.Nice to kno0w someone with the same sobriet date(today!)

Three day one's in this thread. I hope the best for you all.

Walktoremember I get added anxiety anytime I stop from excessive drinking. It gets better pretty quick. Maybe not perfect but better. Good luck to you and try and relax and just soak in the meeting tonight if you go.
