Beginning Today

I've been a heavy drinker for years and have tried to stop many times and fell back in. I'm giving it another try. I've come to the realization that every time I fall back in, its worse. It scares me that I've had such a hard time.

Hopefully today will be the day I can look back on with success.

Welcome Marllnd. Lots of support to be found here. I suggest trying to work out some sort of plan for your recovery, be it AA, SMART, or what ever works for you. This forum has been a blessing for me. Thanks for sharing and hang in there.

Welcome. Thanks for sharing.

Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired?

Do you know deep down that you can't stop on your own?

It's encouraging that you know that every time you relapse it gets worse. Good for you.

"Fall in" to AA. Give it a good, long honest try. It's worked for millions, including me.

Above all, don't drink no matter what.

Welcome Marlind!

My drinking progressed over the years, too. At the end it was about the only thing I looked forward to. It scared me to death to think about giving it up, but it scared me to think about the future, too.

It was no coincidence that I found this forum when I realized I needed help. People told me I could do this and that it was going to get better. I didn't believe it at first, but it turned out they were right. You can turn things around, too. There's a better life out there waiting for you!:ghug3
