One Week...Mixed Feelings!!!
Well, today is day seven for me and it's always been a big drinking day starting around 3:00 - 4:00. The day usually consists of Me, my coutch, a cooler full of beer, and lots of college football.
Instead, I planned a family day with breakfast out, shopping at the market, and movies tonight. However, at the market I wasn't aware they had two sports bars, and amature boxing day with 20 bouts and lots of beer stands.
As you can imagine, the cravings really kicked in around 3:00 - 4:00 so basically I've been doing anything I can to ward them off. I just keep asking myself...do you really want to be hung over tomorrow feeling guilty for drinking??? The answer is NO...I think I'm going to be able to get through this.
I think we'll shoot for going to church which will be the first time in years. If I drink that'll never happen!!!
I CAN DO THIS!!!

YUP...I'm doing this and there's no other option. I think I'll hang out on SR and read until my daughters friend leaves then we'll watch a movie and order some food!!!
I'm gonna be feeling real good tomorrow, especially after church!!!
I hope everyone's having a great weekend!!!

Tommy - thanks for the inspiriing post. I remember, early on, feeling a little sorry for myself when temptation came along. I got over it, though - and the good stuff overcame all the self-pity. It was never as wonderful as we remember! Always paid a huge price, too.
I love that you are doing things you haven't done in awhile. Going to church fell by the wayside for me long ago. Couldn't get up early when I'd just gone to bed at 3:00am I'm glad you're enjoying your life again - it'll just keep getting better.

Tommy, I couldn't even watch college football for 2 years after I got sober because of the drinking connection. For that matter, I used to get loaded sewing so I didn't touch my sewing machine, either! Takes what it takes. Good for you...
