Haven't New Threaded Forever, So I Am
I've been kind of absent here of late, just being a sober person. I hit 6 months in a few daze, it's kind of amazing so I thought I'd post. I'm not a "higher power" kind of guy but I guess my connection to you SR friends, especially the "newbies", like I never was, is kind of higher empowering. I don't post much anymore because I don't know what to say, like now I just ramble, but I know I want what some of you have had for a long time and I want some of you to have what I have had for a short time. I guess to sum up, today I am grateful for today, and that is enough. It's all good.
Not knowing what to say is saying or
sharin exactly what you just shared.
Sharing your own experience of what
it has been like for you before you got
sober, what you did during ur sobriety,
and what it is like now that you are sober.
Many newcomers are starting out just
like many of us have like on day 1. To
get where we are now, they need support
as they learn to stay sober 1 day @ a time.
In seeing and knowing we have stayed
sober for as long as we have gives them
hope that they too can stay sober.
1 day goes int to 2 then 3 then to 6 mos.
like you all the way to 21 yrs. like I.
It's a journey of a lifetime living the
road of recovery each day sharing ur
own ESH with others.

Mycoolfitz,
I was wondering what you were up to. Good on you for your 6 months. I am just over 5 months and feeling great. Thanks for letting us know how you are getting on.
I agree with the aasharon about posting for the very newcomer. People like your posts.

MyCoolFitz,
It's funny how it seems that I get to know and feel close to people that post on this forum - heck, you guys know more about me than anyone in real life! Anyway, when I first joined this forum you were posting quite a bit and I got to where I would look for your posts. I am glad you updated us on how you are - congrats on the six months - that is awesome and inspiring!

So your responses mean a lot. When I was new this site was my life line. I would not have gotten here without it/you. then I got comfortable and that is dangerous. I need to be here to read and post because this is not about me or about you, it is about us. I've read about newbies struggles and i just didn't respond anymore because it was like I just need to move on with my thing and I realize that my thing is that thing. So i'm here. Dee, you are like my hero because you're always here, because you care to be here. You are a Buddha, just not the fat one :-)

Hey Fitz,
Awesome 6 months!!....I find myself doing the same thing...I am on here alot more than I post...In a way, I think I feel like I am still working things out for myself and don't want to get too involved until I feel better about myself, but it is easy to get "comfortable".....coming up on a year for me in Dec - big milestone....I think if anything being here is a great reminder of where we came from just by reading the posts of others, even if we don't have anything to offer....I am truly amazed by some of the regulars here that are so supportive and always giving great advice and support..It is inspiring to me, and I hope that I can be that strong one day....and helpful to others....but until then - working on myself one day at a time....
Thanks Fitz and all....I think Dee said it - We Rock!!
