Two years of rehab
Hello my name is Mark967.
I just signed up to this site. I have a little over two years clean and sober after over twenty years of being an addict and alcoholic. Although I am 44 years old I can't remember the last time I felt so good physically, mentally and spiritually.
I just wanted to say hello. I am working a whole lot now and am back in University, so I just don't have any time to make ftf meetings yet.
When I had a brief bit of sobriety 4 years ago I was having success with online groups in addition to ftf meetings. Unfortunately I relapsed and have no idea how to find that group again, so I found this group on Google and thought I would give it a try.
Two years of rehab is a long time and I am willing to do anything for my recovery. So I am here, cause I will take any support I can get.
Glad to be here.
Mark

Welcome Mark!
I have found the internet connections here at SR to be very helpful to my sobriety. Sometimes it has been more helpful than face to face
I suspect this thread will be moved to a different area with more traffic, but just hang on....people here respond and help alot.
2 years is awsome and I'm happy for you. Just remember that one little "oopsy" can bring it all down...not that we should live in fear, just be sure you keep up on recovery activities to keep you going through all of life's bumps and cliffs!

Thank you ananda. I have stayed in a very strong support network with a great deal of accountability, but of course you are correct. The last time I relapsed I fell extremely far and lightning fast!
Hi Mark! We're so happy to meet you. The wonderful people here straightened me out and gave me courage I never thought I had. I gave up a lifelong drinking habit because of the support I found here.
Be proud of your sober time, and your desire to have a healthy life. It sounds like you're motivated and determined.

Thanks again, what I could really use, at the moment, is where to go to understand this whole thread thing. The meetings I went to were "live" time and that is what I am hoping to find, I guess maybe what I mean is "chat" with a facilitator etc.. An online home group- so to speak. Do to my job and school the best time for me to catch a mtg. is on one of my breaks- lunch or dinner.
Don't worry about the thread thing
We have a chat room here and even a few regular meetings/gettogethers, but no online AA meetings as such.
Someone will give you the links for Online AA options I'm sure

OK, like the the Lao Tzu. Gotta go close the store. I did notice the chat up in the top right corner. I'll check it out later.
Life is good and I am appreciative for my recovery today!
Thanks to all for the welcome. Look forward to communication in the future.
