Sunday morning after Saturday night...

Drinking coffee, some political tv, SR and watching the cat play. Does it get any better? Last night I went to a sober BBQ/card game party. All sober people and thier non alkie partners. Excellent food, laughter and people helping each other in subtle ways....it was a blast! Yes! I can be social without anxiety or a drink!:day6 Another gift of sobriety-sober friends!

Smile

I had to get up really early today to take daughter to work. When I came home I was reminded of the bad ol' days when I'd wake up too early in the throes of withdrawal. How lovely to wake up early and not be shaking like a leaf and feeling horrible.

Hey Sugarbear, great. Like a revamped Kris Kristopherson song, Sunday Morning Coming Up. Good to know that the sun rises as well as sets.

Now if that isn't a true test of sobriety I don't know what is. I was never a morning drinker, but the Sunday AM talking heads would be about as close to triggering an AM desire for whiskey as I could imagine.

Sobriety is about connecting with other people, not isolating. And not so much about drinking in the morning, etc.

Isolating is not an option today. Neither is hurting others or creating problems. I enjoy being sober, being kind, and having a fulfilling day.
