Just want to say hi

Hi everyone, Im James and Im 21 from Ireland. Was in rehab 6 months ago, had a slip in july for 3 weeks but have been back on track ever since going to 3 meetings a week and attending my aftercare. Head racing, negative thinking, and resentments seem to be controlling my head majority of the time and keeping me up all night but im sure the peace of mind will come soon.

Im glad i found this site, i can definately see it helping me. Anyways just said id say hello Take care !!

Hello! I understand the resentments and negative thinking. I have felt like the entire last 6 years of my life spent drinking has flashed before my eyes once I decided to quit drinking. This lead to crying spells and feelings of extreme guilt. As horrible as these thoughts are I believe they are unavoidable and necessary to work through.

Thanks for the replys

I try my best to meet my resentments head on and think them out but end filling with anger. My councillor recommends praying for the people i have resentments with, im sure it can help but its pretty hard to pray for people you despise lol.

Its at it worse at night, in bed, god it is terrible at night.

Welcome to the family, James. I know what you mean about those thoughts that spin out of control in the wee hours. The problem did get much better for me as time went on. I hope you'll begin to feel more calm and peaceful.

Any time you want to vent, someone's here 24/7. Everyone understands what you're going through, and we care. Glad to have you aboard - keep talking

Welcome James!

I got out of rehab about 6 months ago as well. Glad that things are on track for you. I think you'll find SR is a very welcoming and supportive place. It has helped me tremendously in my recovery.

Keep in touch!
