atrophy

So, I'm pretty sure my AH is suffering from atrophy due to drinking and extremely poor diet. He is asking me why I think his legs hurt like he worked out when he didn't. I'm not even going to bother telling him what it could be because he just won't believe me and he'll think I am just on my "high horse". It will also inevitably start an argument. On top of daily drinking, he has never eaten well (i.e. no fruits or vegetables ever). Maybe if a Dr. tells him wat it is, he'll finally believe it. But will he care?

Do you really think a doctor telling him will make him believe it?

He probably is suffering from atrophy. My RAH realizes this now that his big muscular arms are now small and shrunken due to his lifestyle the last few years. He looked drawn before he went into rehab and looked so much better after he had put on a few pounds and eaten there. He has started to work out again. Your H has to realize this himself. A dr. won't help unfortunately.

Do his history and actions tell you he'll care? Is this how you want to live?
