A compilation of thoughts & quotes so far...
Hi everyone, I wanted to share my little compilation of thoughts and quotes that I have "lifted" from some of you on SR since joining this wonderful group..for me, these do not go un-noticed in all of your postings..thank you!
An addict alone is in bad company
A stick of dynamite starts out with a fizzling spark traveling slowly along a wick – sure doesn’t seem like much at first.
Reach for the stars – but keep a ladder handy just in case you have to climb a bit
It’s not how hard you fall – it’s how high you bounce back
Failing to prepare - is preparing to fail
Alcoholics are garden variety drunks at different stages of progression
Sometimes I think about having a glass of wine with dinner – and then I remember I have plans for Christmas ~ Robert Downey Junior
Fear knocked on the door ~ Faith answered...there was no one there
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

"We thought "conditions" drove us to drink, and when we tried to correct these conditions and found that we couldnt do so to our entire satifaction, out drinking went out of hand and we became alchololics . It never occurred to us that we needed to change ourselves to meet conditions , whatever they were"
