Not sure what to say. We all have our stories, with some differences, they are all very much the same.
I'm 37 and have lived with an alcoholic mother for my whole life. Years of my father never wanting a drop of alcohol in the house he has now turned in to a binge drinker. I never suffered from the physical abuse, so never thought I had it "that bad". Still in denial sometimes about how bad her drinking had/is affecting my life and my children's lives. I never thought that this all really had an affect on my life tell I started reading post here on SR. Not to be cliche and blaming my parents, I'm not I know my actions are mine and mine alone. My therapist suggested that I look in to places like this, and to my surprise it has all helped. I don't feel as alone now. Want to say thank you all for telling your story for it has helped me see all this.
Guess that is it for now wanted to finely get over the shyness and introduce myself. Maybe one day I will tell my whole story.

Welcome to you, thank you for telling your story, yes it is the nearly the same as so many others, but it still needs to be told.
I hope you will find solace here, I certainly have, there are so many wonderful and supportive people here, and when you are ready to "tell all" we will welcome your post.
