Do they all act like 5 year olds?

I swear my (x)Abf acts like a child. Tonight he was mad I was ignoring his pleas to drive him to buy beer so he grabbed my book from my hands and hid it. ARGHHH!!!

LOL! Yeah, they pretty much all act like 5 year olds when they don't get their way.

Hi cranapple,

I would imagine it's getting pretty exhausting living like this. You say he's your x? Then how is he even in the same room with you and is able to grab the book from your hands? That is an act of aggression, imho, and reminds me of some of the stuff my A stepson would pull on people. Thankfully, I know now that I don't have to allow that sort of behavior in my life anymore!

I hope things improve for you soon (oh, and that you get your book back)!

Huge hugs!
HG

I did get my book back. I fished it out of one of his bags. We live together still as this is a new break up situation of me being completely FED UP with his drinking!! I'm trying to find a new place currently. Hopefully soon... I feel so stuck.

Yes they do. Even some in recovery still are stuck in that cycle of expecting us to entertain them...as though they are children.

I say get out as soon as you can!

No, that is a huge generalization, but I'm sorry you are going through what you're going through.

I wish you the best of luck in finding a new place.

Sounds familiar, TV remote controls etc mysteriously go missing, the anger gets transferred to an object.
