Still working on it with a new sober date of Sep 18th

I am still struggling with relapses with alcohol and need to try to create a new sober network to help me stay clean. I have trouble figuring out things to do that don't involve alcohol. I need sober friends to do things with.

Welcome!

I had to make a lot of changes in my life too.

Something that really helped me a lot was getting involved in volunteer work in my community. It was truly a godsend for me.

Amat57-
As Anna says, I agree that getting involved in work in yor twon is a great idea, also maybe a self-help group. One that interests you.........Have you hit a meeting, lately?

Blessings,
Kahlia

Thanks

Thanks for all the support. I wasn't sure if anyone was really going to respond. I am hoping to get myself involved some volunteer work. I was volunteering at the senior center for the last year but my schedule doesn't match up anymore. Any suggestions on other places I could look to volunteer at?
I have been going to meetings a couple times a week and am trying to work up to going more often. I don't drive so it takes me a while to get to them.
Thanks again for all of your support. Alex

Hi amat

I'm not an American so it may be different over there - we have a volunteering website here in my country.

If there's nothing like that that I'd start with the various charities, or community groups like meals on wheels, home care - both groups always need willing hands.
