OT Have to change my car..

My current car is manual gear, and I need an automatic as my knees hurt with the manual gear.

This has caused me sadness but now I got excited about a new car...

I have no money and might need it only for less than a year or so, while I hopefully go overseas...

This really old Camaro is one is of the possibilities, around my budget...

The insurance is cheaper too...

Why not??

As long as you don't live in a climate where it snows. Worst handling car in snow. I always have had a crush on the heartbeat of America..................

Snow? no, it doesn't snow where I leave, its a wonderful sunny weather most of the year.

BUT.. there is rain ...

Hadn't thought about that one.

Goodbye, Camaro!!

This is where I miss having a dad around or a brother or a boyfriend!

Maybe a Toyota?

I would sell my car and get a bike ( which is actually good for the knee, at least at the appropriate height) but the city is not bike friendly at ALL.

Sorry for whining.

I will keep looking

I have no car advice but I just wanted to say that your description of living in a wonderfully sunny place year round sounds lovely! Ahhhhh. As weather here has gone from summer (80's) to 30's in the course of 2 weeks I'm longing for a new climate!

I have a little Nissan Sentra that gets great gas mileage, but it's a stick shift. I get around great in it.

You can't go wrong with and late model Honda (or Acura which is essentially a Honda dressed up). They are usually slightly cheaper than a Toyota and just as, if not more, reliable. My first car was a 5yr old Integra... I put 60k miles on it (on top of the 65k it had when I got it!!) and only had oil changes, new tires and one set of brakes for expenses. I have had great luck with used Toyotas as well.

I had nothing but bad luck with used Pontiacs and Chevy cars, FWIW.

Keep looking... more will be revealed.
