12 steps?
I have been on this journey of sobriety since July after a relapse. I am still struggling:/ I have been going to AA meetings weekly. I hear alot about working the 12 steps. What exactly does this mean? Do you read and refelect on each step?
I'm not in AA myself - but you'll hear from those who are I'm sure
here's some good starting points:

Keep coming back! Find someone to guide you through the steps. Someone who does what they say. Their behavior reflects care & concern for others and not on inflating their ego, talking about $ & things. Someone with spiritual values. This may take time. Meanwhile, get the book Alcoholics Anonymous & read the first 164 pages. The steps are woven in those pages.
The steps, as seen on page 59 are just an overview. There's much more to them than written.
Steps 1 through 6 are about "me", steps 7 through 12 are about others. It is by getting out of self that we grow spiritually. We are emotionally immature when we get to aa.
Hope this helps! Also listen to aa speakers online. Try xa-speakers, they have speakers from several programs.
Best wishes!

No, you take the specific and precise actions by following the directions in AA's Big Book. A sponsor, who has experienced a spiritual awakening as the result of those actions can help explain the directions to you by sharing your common experiences.
