Relapse after 2 years of being sober

Hi guys this is my second day of being sober , iwas sober for the last two years without a drop of alcohol in my system. Then i t was a bit confident that i will try controlled drinking which worked only on my first attempt then after that i was full on like before two years . I broke from being sober couple of months before . Last time i was prescribed lexapro which really really helped me being sober .by the way lexapro is for depression . I started trying diet foods and was hungry all the time which is one of the main triggers for drinking.now i have stopped that im having enough food since being sober is my first priority now. In way this time i have kind of written a deed signed by me to my dear wife saying i wont drink and the reasons for it. This kind of give some commitment to it, she supports for being sober.
This is my second day, im not getting any craving as before. Feeling very fresh this morning. My blood pressure is slightly high now,im going out for barbecue with my family and friends . There r drinks provided there but i have already decided i wont take it with a bit of confidence. My challenge is only on fridays, i will update how the day went. Im sure god is good and he will help me.

Munnihubby,
Good on you for getting back on the wagon.

I always read the relapse threads with great interest as it reminds me never to be complacent about my sobriety.

I believe that you can stay sober.

All the best

Welcome Munnihubby
I'm glad you're back on the right track

Apart from the deed and the good diet what other plans do you have to stay sober?

D

Hi and welcome! Glad to have you with us!

Sounds like you had a problem with depression...are you doing anything besides medicine to deal with that? Therapy or the like?

Good job on the 2 years. Just make this a learning experience and move on from it. Don't worry too much on you losing 2 years now. It's just a number, whats more important is that if your more happy now that you know that you can't drink again.

I tried the "social" drinking thing after 4 years clean/sober. Needless to say, it did not go well for me.

I'm grateful that I was only out there for 2 months binging off and on before I hit a bottom.

AA welcomed me back with open arms.

Sending you hugs of support!
