Old Timers
Happiness, joy and freedom to everyone here. Is there a thread for old timers, say with 25 years plus sobriety who are dealing with aging, sickness and death while continuing to carry the message!
Love, Khandro

There's no such thread to my knowledge Khandro but start one of you like - I'm not sure how many 25years+ people we have tho....
I know you'll get responses here from all kinds of members here in this thread

Hi Khandro
What a great idea this is. I won't qualify, only having 5 months, but I'd love to read postings by peeps who have as long as you. I have huge respect for people who quietly own their sobriety for what is almost a lifetime. I think we could all learn so much from the long timers, so start one up!!!

Welcome Khandro! What an accomplishment. I know we'd all like to hear more about your journey.
Years ago - when alcoholism wasn't discussed as much - there weren't as many options for those suffering. I'm glad it's different now, of course - but sorry for those who felt they had to keep it a secret & had nowhere to turn. I'm glad you were able to get well & are willing to share your story.

First let me say WELCOME to Sober Recovery. You have found a great place with lots of ES&H in many areas.
I think your idea is GREAT.
Why not start a thread to that effect?
I know of several of us that will post, myself included, roflmoa
I got sober in California in the San Fernando Valley in June of '81. Have had a lot of really good years, in recovery with the 'normal' "ups and downs", lol but like many other folks as we get 'older' I am finding out the so called "Golden Years" are NOT really golden when fighting health problems. Some of mine sad to say are the direct long term result of my 24 years of drinking.
So, please go ahead and start a thread for this subject, I think you will be quite surprised at how many responses you get. Don't know thought if you need to put a 'qualifier' on it as to time in recovery. J M H O
