How to find local support groups
Since acknowledging that I have a problem and trying to reach out for help, I'm now realizing how difficult it can be to find help locally. Of course, I know all about AA, but being an atheist, I don't feel like I belong in that type of setting, since it seems to center around God, or a higher power. (And I don't mean any disrespect at all... I just feel like it would be rude of me to "play along"" with something I don't believe in... does that make any sense?)
I'm just wishing I could meet up with other people who are like me, in some kind of non-religious support group setting. And so far I'm not having much luck. It's frustrating.
