One Week...Tomorrow
Well, at this time last week I was borderline blackout drunk.
What I do remember wasn't pretty. I don't think I had ever been that bad before - my hands were shaking not from lack of but too much alcohol, passing out for moments at a time and regaining consciousness momentarily, tears spilling out of my eyes for no reason at all - let's just say it was a mess...
But good incentive to make a difference in my life.
Tomorrow will be day 7 - one week, and it's been going pretty well, definitely better than every other time I've quit.
I bought a six-pack today...of root beer, and I didn't even finish the whole sixer!
One more day of the weekend, then time to do it all again.
Day by day, week by week.
I just keep in mind the first day sober after my bender, and I never want to feel that insane amount of anxiety and regret again -there were points that i didn't know whether or not I was going to lose my mind or my heart was going to stop...so there's one great reason to keep sober.
Thanks to everybody on here for their words of wisdom and encouragement - it helps to have people who can truly understand my struggle!
