Talking One Day UP One Day DOWN

Well I am seeing how they say "one day at a time". Today is day 9 for me. Yesterday and the day before were the hardest days I think for me so far on my sober journey. Wow I was so down and wanted to drink so bad, especially yesterday. It was horrible but I forced myself to go to the gym and took a class that really helped. I woke up this morning and I feel great!!! Wow. Totally different energy today. I will run with it and I am glad because I am working in the pub and have a gig tonight at a bar - but I'm feeling strong - bring it on!!!!

I know how you feel bennybored. I am on day five and yesterday I was going crazy wanting a drink. I made it through though and today I feel great! I'm learning that there really is something to the "one day at a time" thing. Stay strong - you are not alone!!

Awesome! I try to make sure experiences like that let sink in to my brain so the next time I really really want a drink I can remember that it does pass and there is happiness at the other end.

Good luck with work and show!

Nice work!

I think we all have our up days and down days. For me the down days got a little less down over time.

So glad you're feeling good today. It was Anna that told me early on that recovery isn't like a straight line - there are up and downs. I had to trust what everyone else told me (and like eJoshua's post said) - it gets better.

Hope your gig/work went well - you're setting a great example to others in that atmosphere!

It's a great day to start a gratitude list in case you hit a rough spot and need some encouragement. Nine days is quite an accomplishment!!!!!!!!!
