Anyone else here have songs that suddenly have meaning for them while in recovery?

My song lately has been "Flagpole Sitta" by Harvey Danger. It almost seems to me to be someone going through with some kind of drug/alcohol withdrawl. Manic and introspective in quick succession. "I'm not sick but i'm not well" almost defines how I feel going through this process. "And i'm so hot, 'cause i'm in hell..." can relate to my nightsweats early on and now my wild and unpredictable temper right now. It's not who I want to be but it's who I have to be right now. Even the title "Flagpole Sitta" is appropriate because if that I sway to any side i'll fall off and be back on the ground, dejected and feeling defeated.

Any other songs out there?

I don't know, but I do know that a lot of songs lost their meanings for me!

Also, "you told them all I was crazy. They cut off my legs now i'm an amputee (g*dd*am you!)" To me, that was when my husband told me I HAD to get intense help and in my state of mind at the time I felt that all my freedom and independence was taken away and I wanted to rebel.

Funny thing is, lately i've been listening to Irish drinking songs a lot and can honestly just enjoy them for their their humor and (for myself) appreciate their irony.

I tried to post a you tube but apparently it didn't work. Anyway, lots of songs have more meaning than they used to for me. Most aren't related to recovery though.
