How life can change, amazing

Hi Everyone:

This time last year, I was a mess, I went to a work function got drunk stumbled around lost a lot of respect for myself.

I just went to the same event and what a world of difference, I did not drink, I went to the bar, the drinks were flowing everywhere, I pulled one of the barmen aside and said could you keep your eye on me tonight and pour me sparking apple juice in a champagne glass, when ever you see me with out one can you bring me one so everyone does not keep trying to get me to drink. I know I can just say no, but this was my strategy and it worked!!

The number of stumbling, smelly drunks all telling me their secrets was incredible. I was in bed by around mid night and woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed.

I am so so so so proud of myself. I have started a relationship with a man and told him that I crossed the line with drinking so don't anymore, he said he was happy to stop drinking the little he already did also, wow. I think I may be in love but I am still a little cautious.

I think when we look after our spirits and souls and respect our bodies good things happen, I have missed visiting all of you daily as I have been overseas even had wine in the mini bar and was fine but I did let myself eat all the chocolate I wanted :-) I knew you were all here, some feeling the true happiness sobriety brings, some longining to feel it. Where ever you are on this journey, give it a chance, it is really a better way of life.

Awesome. You've changed one habit that'll make it easier the next time you have to be somewhere.

Thanks everyone! I am in 7 month and could not be happier, I am not saying somethings are not challenging, but I am so better equipped, I feel a bit like a grown up now. TTBP you are very special to me and I am so happy to you having taken this brave step and are taking one step at a time.

On the flight back the next day you should have seen all the hung over people, talking to them I kept offering a breath mint, I wondered did I use to smell like alcohol the next day like that. Also with a wink, let me just say being intimate while sober is amazing!!
