I have posted about this too. So talented and yet the beast got hold of her and ravaged her and she never had the proper guidance to bring her from the brink.
The beast doesnt care how much money, fame or talent you have, its just wants a host to destroy. 27 however, is way too young but as you say she is at peace.

I am so shocked, I was going to post a thread about it but didn't know if I should.
So, so stunned. I wasn't her biggest fan, not in the slightest but.. Wow. 27 and she couldn't be saved. I am surprised at how upset I feel. I guess it's just a massive slap in the face. Going down that path is a bad choice.
Wow.

Wow.
Since her age was mentioned a couple times here, I thought some of you might find this interesting...

I am really shocked about this - I thought she was doing a lot better. That's what all the news was raving about the last little while. I guess she wasn't free of her demons - now she is. May she rest in peace, thoughts go to her family and friends...so so sad.
She was so talented.
She was so talented.
A really tormented soul, I hope she found peace at last. Another sad addition to the 27 club.
Also, a powerful reminder that people do die of this disease at a young age. (or fromncomplications due to it) An not only famous people.

I believe just last month Amy, after going through rehab I believe, started a comeback tour. Apparently being heavily impaired and unable to perform she was booed off stage.
So many tragic ends to active addiction, the illness claims another precious person. By best wishes to her family and friends

A good reminder that no matter what our personal situation, we can always pretend that a different situation will make us happy. But a change of situation isn't enough.
Winehouse said she was miserable multiple times, and she gave off the feeling she felt trapped. So she tried to comfort herself w/booze & drugs.
WOW! She doesn't want her situation, which is something i could envy.
How many of us tell ourselves "Well, if i had million$ from my platinum album and great creative talent, then i'd be happy and contented."
Each of us has to learn to find peace in our current situation. Our minds play tricks on us, and tells us that "you'd be happy if...". A change of situation won't bring peace without a change of mindset too.
This is what we strive for in working our recovery: learning the skills to be happy and at peace. Stopping the drinking is just removing a barrier that keeps us from peace.
Here's an addition to the '27 club'.
