Ready for Round 6

Thank you friends. Made it last night. Sober for 5 days, today is the 6th. Saturaday's are always tough. Thought I would feel alittle better today physically but I'm sure it's just the WD's, mentally doing great. Last night the wife went to bed and left a glass of wine on the table. I looked at it for the longest time, the tempation was bad. I knew I couldn't even have one sip or I was doomed. Walked to the sink and dumped it. I feel silly to keep asking for encouragement but it does help to hear from you and be told not to drink.

Hang in there Edward, your doing great!! The first week was a little rough for me too. It gets better, as long as you don't pick up that first drink. Keep busy and stay hydrated. You can do this!! Pouring out the wine was a good move on your part!

Best Wishes To You!

It's not silly to ask for encouragement on here, it's what we like to do! I couldn't have done it without the encouragement from people on here. No one else outside of SR really notices that I'm sober - well, not to the extent of wanting to talk about it at length. So SR has been a great platform to ask for a little pat on the back when I feel like I deserve one

Well done for walking away from that. I can imagine the temptation running through your veins, because I've had occasions like that, too. But each time you resist, you add a notch to your sobriety - and the more of those you have, the easier it gets.
