white chip

Anyone saving their white chip? I am going to save mine. It has so much meaning to me right now. I am thinking about putting my date of sobriety on it and putting somewhere close so I see it frequently to remind me.

Yeah, I keep mine in the watch pocket of my jeans. Even when I pick up other chips, I'll keep my first one on me since it's the most important one.

Yay! I thought maybe I was strange for wanting to do that. I can't wait to get my next one but this one will be the most important one

I never got a white chip. The first chip I actually received was my 90 day and I take that with me everywhere.

There is now this tinny aluminum ringing sound in my pocket whenever I walk.

ang, at 90 days i was given a three generation old real brass coin

it's been in my pocket everyday for over eight years
.
when i get a bit nerved up, or the dopey thinking may come in...

i just rub the hell out of it.

that sucker is as shiny as a new car!

misplaced it a few times, though it's always turned up

i use that as a step three tool

ps

i have lent it out to others in a few meetings, lol!

Who gave you that? That is cool. Yesterday when I was out and about looking for a job, I passed my favorite liquor store. I got a real bad idea in my head. I looked down at that white chip and decided job hunting can wait. I drove to a 12pm AA meeting instead. I have to have it close by me. It may just save my life.

That's too funny! I actually have a poker chip holder wheel thing that I keep all of mine in haha.

I too keep whichever one is most current with me in my pocket everyday and rub the hell outta it when I am feeling off the beam.

At over a year sober, i still have mine (although we call them desire chips here). I have heard many with years of sobriety say this is the only one they carry with them, to remind them that it really is just this 24 we have.

Another friend of mine drilled a hole in it and wears it around his neck on a chain.

Keep it.

My first home group did not give chips or medallions to anyone for anything.

My AA friend gave me a new one for my first AA year....I put it in my billfold ..since those days...I still keep the current one in billfold.

I like the reminder ...:
