On to another day
So today is day four. I feel good about it because for the past two weeks I could not get past day three. I spent the evening with a friend last night at a mall with the kids. This seemed to help. When we were leaving I felt this awful dread. I knew I would once again have to face being alone when the kids went to bed. I fought through it and drank lots of seltzer water. So let's see how tonight go's.
That day four was always a killer for me, too.
Just hang in there and remember the misery alcohol wrought on you. There is no future in drinking. I come here and get reminded by the newcomers what is was like 'out there'.
Hang in and wishing you continued sobriety. Remember, it only gets better.

Any particular plans for tonight, Sark? It helps me to sometimes plan a few things so I can sort of go on autopilot and do them... without much thought.
Bookstores full of books & coffee always help me It gets me out of the house, out of my head and focused on tangible things... and if I just happ to find a decent book that catches my eye... then all the better. Sipping on some warm coffee is comforting also.
Regimented days are supposedly good for us at first...

Hi, Sark
I see you are on Day 4, but joined this site in November. When others here suggest you have a plan, perhaps you could reach out to others, face-to-face, for support?
That's what I did, and found rooms full of people who wanted to share their experience in hopes that it would help me remain sober, and to address the issues that brought me to the rooms in the first place.
That was AA. And yesterday marked my ninth month of sobriety.
It can be hard to make a meeting, and even harder to go to that first one, but something there really speaks to me, and I suspect it might speak to you, too.
Keep coming back here and posting. It's what kept me sober for three months before reaching out for help in AA.

I do plan on going to AA I just have to arrange it around my kids. That's the hard part. I am also going to be starting an intensive out patient treatment. Hopefully between those and SR I can remain sober.
