Thought For The Day

To me, this should be the thought for life.

Keeping sober is the most important thing in my life. The most important decision I ever made was to give up drinking. I am convinced that my whole life depends on not taking that first drink. Nothing in the world is as important to me as my own sobriety. Everything that I have, my whole life, depends on that one thing.

Can I afford to forget this, even for one minute?

I know I can't for sure.

So true! I would also tell myself 'every craving is a lie'. A craving will drive you crazy and you'll believe all the reasons you're alcoholic mind tells you that 'just one more drink/night' is a good idea.

Also, I saw in another post you have kids. Getting sober is such a wonderful thing to do for your family.

Right. No negotiations. How can you negotiate with an inanimate fluid? Would I have just one more shot of Drano? Not so different really. Watered down Drano--at least to my body.
