Hi there -
I haven't had a drink since last Monday and over the past year I've quit for a month or two at a time but always went back. My problem is the boredom --- drinking always made life more interesting and was an escape but the next day, it's all the same. How do you find comfort in the daily routine? How do you handle the monotony of the day after day? Any ideas.
Thanks

You have to lean on other people. I never learned to do that. i was always the one people leaned ON. But I realized now that it's time to rely on other people when I feel like I'm going to use, I talk to someone, chat with someone online, email someone. It saves me every single time!
Hi Eumenides and welcome to SR!
There's a great sticky thread at the top of the Newcomers page, titled "Looking for Something to Do?" that has lots of ideas for keeping yourself busy. It has some great ideas if you're just straight up bored.
It also helps to have different things planned out during the week. Personally, I've recognized that Wednesday is a trigger day for me (middle of the week blergs) so I switched yoga classes from Saturday afternoons to Wednesday night.
