hi guys
my girlfriend has just told me that shes going out friday night with the girls for a drink and a dance, i dont worry about that but what does worry me is that before hand they will all be here drinking wine and i know temptation will be put my way especially if they leave any bottles with wine still in.

any advice would be welcome

don't join the party. let the girls hang out with the girls, and drink your coffee, tea, soda. Focus on tomorrow, not tonight. Having your own drink will help a lot.

If your girlfriend knows that you don't wish to drink or be tempted to drink, I would simply ask her to make sure the alcohol is gone when they're gone. Have the other girls take the unopened bottles and she can dump whatever has been opened.
And nothing says you have to be home while they are there and drinking. Perhaps catch an AA meeting, run some errands, meet someone for coffee or grab a movie?

If she doesn't know you've quit drinking, now would be a good time to tell her. Because then you'll have the support you need on Friday. For me, nothing helps more than being accountable to someone, too.

Yes, if the need to drink at your place, have them take all the bottles with them when they leave. And, why not plan to be out while they're drinking?

well i didnt join the party as it wasnt that bad, well i did join the party but only with lemonade and ice, also the fact ive developed a throat infection helped alot lol
