Step 1 --> the Key
At a closed step 1 meeting last night, one man said that, after 10 years sober, he felt that he was no longer powerless over alcohol, "obviously"...so a few days ago, he had a beer, which turned into 50 ounces of vodka a day, within 3 days...which lead to a DUI, and jail...straight out of jail, hailed a taxi to get to liquor store...drank lots of wine...911....off to hospital, straight out of hospital, back to liquor store...more vodka...then managed to sober up enough to get to the meeting last night.
Boy oh boy, I gotta remember that Step 1 is the only Step that I have to get down 100%.
I'm only on Step 2, now...trying to find a Higher Power.
It was nice that the liquor and beer stores were closed yesterday, for the Canada Day holiday...I hope they're closed in the U.S. on July 4.
