I'm finally ready
I had 20 days sober and on Sunday I decided to drink. I sat there and stared at the cup going back and forth and the alcohol won. I am now 5 days sober and feel better than I have in a LONG time. I know I will need help on this journey and that's why I am here. I am also gonna be giving up cigs, I have one pack left and cant bring myself to throw them away. I think I am gonna miss the cigs more but they just don't taste as good as they did with a drink. I'm kinda worried about quitting both at the same time but at least I can still have my coffee.

Kaw I quit both at the same time. Major drinking and three packs a day of cigarettes. I am still tobacco and alcohol free many months later. However I am still using the lightest 7 mg patches until I no longer care anymore. Beats what inhaling did to me for sure. Give yourself a sprout and do the patches for a month (21 mg to 14mg to 7 mg.) Or more if needed. Good luck with both, don't let one start you on the other again. Or the lack of one.

Thanks. I feel way better on this 7th day than I did on my first 7th day. I think I was bound to try it one more time. I am grateful that is was just one day and it I didn't give up. I am not doing very good with the cigs :/ but I have not drank anything and that is way more important to me. I will try again after this pack.
