Scared but Ready
I have an addiction to alcohol for about a year now. I went to rehab once and was good for about three months and then relapsed. I am so desperate to stop. I dont have insurance for inpatient treatment. I dont know if stopping on my own is a good idea. I have noticed that when i dont drink I have severe headaches and I feel irritable and am very anxious. I have two young kids and am afraid of what would happen if I did this on my own. Should I tough it out on my own or try to seek some type of treatment?
Welcome back Sark.
Detox can sometimes be rough for some of us, so I always recommend you seek medical advice. Many places now have free clinics - google 'free clinics' and your area. If all else fails, go to the ER.
Have you tried a recovery group like AA or SMART etc?

Hi,
The first time I went into detox and did not get a chance to go to meetings after I got out becuase my husband unexpectedly passed way. I was supposed to do intensive out patient treatment and AA. He passed away the day after I got out of detox. I was not in the right state of mind to do anything. I am looking into something now becuase I relapsed.
