I have never felt so much support...

The second I read the replies to my post, I felt understood for the FIRST TIME in forever. I want to applaud all of the members of this site...your strength and courage mean everything to someone like me. I am going to get blood tests this week. Wish me luck and prayers...I am still weak and continue to fall into drinking - with all the guilt and shame in the world to chase it down...

I still use the ritual of reading the BB or this site each night in bed (at the same time) to calm my nerves and practice good bedtime habits. Stick around. As they say in AA, if sobriety doesn't work for you, we'll refund all your misery.

I'm off to my favorite AA meeting of the week now.

I felt the same way when I first came here, worriedbinger. I was still drinking, but was immediately comforted & strengthened by what I read here. Knowing I was no longer alone with my problem meant everything to me. I finally laid it down for the last time 3 yrs. & 5 mos. ago. You will do it too!

I slipped back into drinking many times because the shame and worry consumed me. Don't let yourself be overwhelmed with your feelings. Stay focused and you can get through this. Good luck at the dr, and be sure to let us know how it goes.
