21 days, Question?

I've been doing a heck of allot of soul searching and reading to replace my bad habit. I do feel great and sleep much better.

Question, I'm in good health don't smoke, but after drinking beer for 24 years, 4-5 nights a week, 6-12 beers a day, how long does it take for your liver to recover?

I say this cause I want to space enough time before I get a full physical and pass with a clean bill of health. It will also give me something to work for.

Let me know your thoughts how long does a healthy body take to rebound.

I really think it's different for each individual, but you doctor would be the best person to give you some answers on that.

Yes, you really have no way of knowing, because you don't know how much, if any, damage was done.

Do talk to your dr about this.

Hey, FB1, Anna is right. There may be no damage! I'm not going to give a 'drink-a-log' here, but I will say that I started drinking at age 11 and finally sobered up at 44, and my liver is just fine.

"Most people with liver disease caused by alcohol consume more than six drinks a day for more than 10 years. People who drink much less can develop liver disease. It is impossible to predict how much alcohol a given person must drink to develop liver disease."- SteadyHealth.com

I've known strictly social drinkers, not alcoholic, to have major liver issues caused by alcohol consumption. It has more to do with your gene pool, I guess!
