Am also new here....
Hi everyone,
Have been lurking for a while now and have seen the great advice you all give to each other. Hoping I can benefit from this too in time and also that something I might say may be of benefit to someone else at some stage too.
My husband is an alcoholic and is coming out from a treatment centre at the weekend...so big changes ahead for us all.

Milly39,
I remember I lurked for almost 2 months before I finally posted. That was a scary first step for me.
So, have you seen your way around here well? The stickies at the top were quite helpful to me.
I hope your journey to recovery becomes a peaceful one. I know mine has had some bumps, and now I'm able to find more peace in my days than not.
For some, it's a very slow process.
I think you'll find some benefit with reading and with sharing your story.

it's nice to meet you, Millie! Welcome!
How long has your husband been in the treatment center? Has the center done anything to help you understand what may be happening once he gets home?
I hope the best for you!

Hi Milly! Welcome to SR, and share as much as you feel comfortable.
Big changes are coming for your husband, definitely. But big changes are coming for you too! Hopefully changes for the better! I'd love to learn more about you, and what you're doing to prepare yourself for what's ahead.
Always lots of ears and shoulders here when you need them!

Thank you all for the great welcome.
My husband has been in the treatment centre for 30 days and during this time I have taken part in the family programme every week. They do prepare you for what will happen when he returns home, which is good in theory...but.. I am so apprehensive. I have found an alanon meeting near to where we live so I will be attending that for myself. We also have an aftercare programme to attend together every week for 2 years...so that will be good too. Here's hoping it will all make a difference
