Hooky

I had a few real errands to run this afternoon, but I got all in the Christmas spirit and decided to just do a little holiday recognizance. I just got back about an hour ago. Once I started looking at all the shiny new things in the tidy tidy stores I just didn't want to come back to my cave. I went everywhere. I tried on about 50 pairs of shoes (bought one pair that was 75% off). I looked at EVERYthing. It was glorious. And since I don't get out much I also amused myself looking at everyBODY. And I had an epiphany. I am going to remember this day the next time I ask myself why I put up with Dino, for I believe I have part of the answer.

Because ladies......

There are some ugly men out there.:p

I have found that when I am broke, I want EVERYTHING..then, a few days later I have money to burn and like NOTHING.. I have passed the nugget of wisdom to my daughters, and they agree...

There must be good

shopping karma going around. Much as I hate to get up early on Saturday, I did just that and went to the Kohl's "early bird sale". Man am I glad I did. Everything I got was 50% off. I walked out of there with seven nice Christmas gifts for under $100.00. Then, I went and got my Thanksgiving turkey. There is only one store around here that sells the Perdue, pop-up thermometer type turkeys. And they were on sale too! Then I came home and ordered three more gifts on line, and they were 30% off. I have never had this much Christmas shopping done before Thanksgiving. I'm pretty jazzed about that. I think I'll do the "early shopping" thing again. It was so nice to shop in an almost empty store and to not have to wait in line to check out.
Peace,
Gabe

Gabe....it must be something in the air this year!!! I too am almost finished with my shopping AND didn't spend a fortune doing it. I love this feeling.....I have even already taken my three year old to see SANTA...we had breakfast w/him Saturday.

I plan on really enjoying this Holiday season and reflecting on what the season is really all about and recognizing that although I have some problems, that over-all I am VERY fortunate and blessed......I hope that I can find a way to pass it on and share the happiness!!

Everyone here was on my prayer list this morning! I hope that blessings are bountiful to each and everyone of you!!!

Happy Holidays

Oh great I haven't even made up my list, let alone start shopping. I like to do most of it in one big sweep, but I have to get motivated first, and you are all motivating me....well except for the "ugly guy" report LOL.

We already had out Thanksgiving last month (Canada) so I have no excuse about being preoccupied.

This week I will head out and test the waters.

Hugs

You just dont know how to shop. LOL.
I use the reward system.
First you get a reward for making a list. You get another reward for actually going. If there are more than two people on your list you get another reward.
Any gift purchased for an inlaw intitles you to another reward.
Any gift bought for someone you cant stand counts as a double reward.
For every two hours spent shopping you get another reward.
If any clerk ignores you or is snippy you get another reward.
If you have to wait on any thing you get another reward.
If you actually finish you get another reward.

If I buy three gifts I can shop for me till Easter. LOL.
