Hey I'm a noob again ;) :(
Hey I'm a noob again ;) :(
Hi all, Well I got my 15 year chip last Monday, got drunk on Wednesday. Found out my wife of 26 years has an incurable cancer and a short time to live. I DO hope nobody sees this as a legitimate reason to drink, It wasn't. We all have a breaking point and I hit mine. Anyway my sober life is just too precious for me to give up on. I still have many people in my life I NEED to live for and set an example (children and grand children) Hope you all can forgive my human frailty and help me get back where I need to be. First step here I come again.

Ron,
I am so very sorry. I will say a prayer for you and for your family. There is nothing to forgive; you need not ask our forgiveness here on the SR forum. The person I suspect you need to forgive is yourself. You already know what you need to do.

Thanks for the reminder I am not immune no matter how many years I gain in sobriety.
Take care and good luck with starting over.
My prayers for you and your family.

Sending love and prayers out west to you, Ron. So very sorry to hear the news, and it's completely understandable that you fell back on your old comforter. You'll turn it around, though - no doubt about it.
