Found a life I never knew existed
Hey everyone! Just wanted to stop in and say "Hey"
I am 53 days sober today. my original sobriety date was Aug 22, 2010 (on this day, I overdosed for my 5th time; I am an IV drug user), in which I was in a 30-Day rehab. as soon as I got out, I relapsed. It was a 6 month long relapse, which included my drug of choice (Heroin). In this relapse I managed to mutilate myself, which put me in a Mental Institution, and then after getting out and continuing to get loaded, got put into handcuffs. Finally I had had enough. I have never been able to put together this much time together since rehab.
that's a little bit about me, I am glad to be here

Thank you all very much!
Yes, I have a sponsor and am in the process of working the steps (currently on step 2)
the first time through my recovery, I didnt do anything suggested, so now I do. I go to meetings, help others, got a commitment, work with my sponsor, read my book, and anything else I can do, it truly is such a wonderful feeling I have today.
I use to be such a hopeless person, and I never thought I would be where I am today
