Smile WOW! I'm making it through this weekend!

I was so scared on Friday! LOL I thought, "omg, how will I get past a holiday weekend that I used to get blitz on every year???" Friday I went to a meeting and admitted I was forgetting the pain and glamorizing the possibility of using." LOL they said I just narked on myself and proceeded to walk me through what drinking might be like. Lemme just say it worked and I didn't want to drink at all.

Now this isn't to say that I wished I could (drink like a normal person) but I just kept telling myself it would only end in disaster. I'm just happy I said something and allowed my friends to help me through it. That is such a big step for me. In the past I would have just (without even thinking about it) picked up the drink and woke the next day feeling like an idiot on so many levels.

My AA peeps have my back and want me to be happy. It's a great feeling knowing that these people really do care and understand me. Now I wish my brain would rewire it's self like yesterday!!!!!

Thanks all! This sober living can be tough! I've never seen so many commercials about alcohol in one weekend in my life. It's like when you get pregnant (sorry guys) you start to notice all the other pregnant women at the mall. They were always there but you didn't pay any attention because you were never prego! Now that I'm not drinking it's like everywhere I turn there is an advertisement or someone drinking! It's crazy! Especially over holiday weekends. Thank goodness for my DVR! LOL
