Three weeks!
Three weeks!
I feel great!
Today marks my 3 week mark and I feel fantastic. The weather in my area is for crappy, crumby, rain all week, and I don't care! Life feels so GREAT right now! My birthday is next week and I'm looking forward to spending it at home with a few bottles of water and some video games and TV!
Maybe I'm getting a little ahead of myself, but I just can't help but embrace this amazing feeling of having a clear mind. I can sit here and type out my thoughts without having to stop and realize that I'm really feeling something I haven't in a while, accomplishment!
I used to sit up every night until 3 - 4 AM drinking because I wouldn't start until other people were asleep, now I'm heading off at a normal hour and waking up to birds chirping, walking the puppy, and ready to take the day like nobody can stop me.
I have a plethora of thoughts since I began this journey and started a blog, and the outcome has been amazing. Just being able to chronicle this road to recovery and pour out all of the wrongs of my past and put them behind, once and for all. I feel like a new man, and I know some people don't like to count days, but I've been enjoying it.
I've had a number of issues happen over the last 3 weeks that normally would have caused me to easily succumb to alcohol, but I'm now facing all of my problems HEAD ON!
Thank you reading, I'm glad to have this forum and I'm glad to be walking path of sobriety.

Great post, Arc! I'm 3 weeks and a few days and your words were a good reminder. Both mentally and physically, I feel better and hope I'll continue to feel better. I too drank late at night and it could really wreck the next day, right? It's a whole new experience of morning, each and every morning! You said it so perfectly!
