I treated myself today...

I drove over to the campus bookstore to pick up my cap and gown for graduation, and I stopped at Office Max to look at computer chairs. I got part of my back pay from SSI already, and I bought a rolling shiatsu massage executive chair! I sat in one while he turned that puppy on, and oh my, it felt so good!

I can't think of a better investment for my time in front of the computer, and I think it's going to be an excellent way to keep my back pain down!

I'm feeling very emotional today with graduation tomorrow. I almost started crying on the way out to the car as I was carrying my cap and gown.

How far I have come from a woman who was literally dying in 1986, and married to a violent abusive AH!

What wondrous gifts recovery brings us.

I'm only finishing my freshman year...

and I spied a 'useless' statuette of a fairy holding a rose
(I'm a rose junkie)
so I had the clerk put it on hold ...

and I"m buying it - saturday when exams are over.

that's my gift to myself.

I'm not usually one bo buy a figurine thing
I've got tons of dragons and horses
but not an 'angel' kind of person.
Sitting in a room full of angel statues
makes me feel like I'm in an english cemetery.

but this one is a carved wood fairy,
fairy wings and all holding a rose
I like it.

I always buy things that are useful
and never anything ... like that any more.

and never NEVER new.
it's all from the second hand store.

this one - is just for me.

I'm so PROUD OF YOU!!!!!

Whee hoo! You SOOO deserve it! Now, buy a $5 timer, for when you are in the office, and set it for periods of time, such as an hour, and do a minute of stretching and range of motion when it goes off every hour! - Neck, shoulders, hips, hamstrings, calves.

So excited for you for tomorrow!

I don't care if I have to do the walk with a walker - I'm goin the whole 9 yards!

My sponsor got her degree too and isn't even attending graduation.
that's nuts to me.

She thinks she'd look stupid with a buncha twenty year olds.
She keeps saying it isn't that big a deal to her.

I don't care if I have to come off the stage and get into a CASKET
I'm getting handed my degree in front of God and everybody!

LOL

((((DeVon))) -what a nice gift for yourself!! I had to take a day off work to go to my high school graduation (was already in college and working full time). When I got that associate's degree, didn't go to graduation for whatever reason.

I DID go for the nursing degree, and I can bet you I will go to the one I'm working on now. I may need one of those "hover-round" thingies, but I'll be there

I am so, so very proud of you. I've tucked your invitation away (so the cats don't mess it up) until I can frame it and hang it over my desk for inspiration

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

awwww, ((((Jadmack)))) - how I have missed you and your pictures. So good to see you back

(((DeVon))) - we ARE gonna get to see a picture of you in your cap and gown, right? In fact, I want one sent to my e-mail, so I can keep the picture on my phone, for those "stressful" times in school

Love, hugs, and prayers,

Amy
