A new member, working on my sobriety, just saying hello.
Hello all,
First off I would just like to say that I think it is wonderful that such area's such as this exist on the Internet, where people can gather and talk about extremely tough things such as, but not limited too, addiction.
I have been sober and off of alcohol since April 26th of 2011, 2 weeks and 1 day. This is my third go around with attempting to stay 100% clean of alcohol, and I'm hoping, of course, that third times a charm. I have recently had surgery to have my Gallbladder removed, and i thought what better time then stop, since i couldn't have any drinks while in the hospital of course, and things have been going well so far.
My second time quitting was the absolute worst, 10-15 minutes of sleep a night, constantly jerking out of bed, terrible sweats, heart feeling as if it was going to heave right out of chest and the room around me spinning. I felt like I was a goner that time, but it all passed within days.
I of course convinced myself I had it under control and have some drinks here and there, but we all know what that leads too, and before I knew it, it was back to my old way of 15-18 beers a night.
Well I'll cut this short, I hardly know any of you to be rambling on! I hope to contribute here and get too know some people, and share more of stories in the future.
Thank you.

Thank you all for your warm welcomes, it is much appreciated. I've been looking around and reading various threads and it's always good to see that there are people you can relate with, even if it's through the anonymity of the Internet, and not a person next to you in the flesh.
Thank you again and I hope my experiences I'll post in the future can help even 1 person at the least, and that reading everyone's stories can continue too keep me strong as I continue my trek down the road of recovery.
