First CODA meeting last night

I did it!! Went to my first CODA meeting.

Fireworks did not go off. I've been to al-anon years ago and realize that although I am very glad I attended a meeting, the hard work really begins. I am looking forward to going back, though.

Stepping out of my isolated comfort zone (which is my own self-induced insanity) is the worst part for me.

My AD is still living with me and it took but 1 week for my codie behaviors to take full swing. I'm now having to go way, way back to step one. I don't know how long I can do this. I'm having to really give this to my higher power and ask for divine guideance.

Yes, I definitely need to attend as many meetings as possible. I really need to focus on me.

Huggs to my SR family.

Good for you for getting yourself to a meeting!!! That's great!

I have tried to follow the advice "work the program you wish they would work". I have to say that it certainly helps keep me balanced. I still have times where I feel that imbalance but my program helps me to quickly get back on track.

Keep going back....

gentle hugs

Good for you hope, CoDA is my home fellowship and I know it helped me through my darkest days.

Stick with it. It's not starting over because this time you are wiser than before. I re-work the steps every year, not because I need to start over but because they help me in all aspects of my life and it feels good to recharge my recovery batteries.

Hugs

I've started reading Melody Beattie's Codependents Guide To The Twelve Steps. I'm finding that it will be very helpful to me.

Keep up the good work hope2be!
