Day 15 rehab
Great session on Addiction in the Family, how EVERYONE in the family is negatively affected by the father's (or mother's) addiction.
Bye...going bowling in 10 minutes.

Absolutely Kelly, so many family are torn apart or
ripped apart due to some sort of addiction in the
family. When one in the family is sick, the entire
family is affected.
Today I have to distance myself to pretty much
divorcing myself from my parents and siblings
due to the toxins that are still in that family. To
go back into that inviroment would be taking a
huge risk of getting infected again.
In my marriage I was the one was was sick and
keep a safe distant from my kids because they
turned out to be awesome adults today and I
dont want to put them into any danger of getting
sick by me. My husband went on his own way too.
Today I am remarried in a healthy happy recovery
marriage where both my spouse and I live and work
and enjoy our recovery life.
For families just starting out there are many recovery
programs to help repair damage done. To help strengthen
bonds and regain trust, but everyone has to be willing
to work in this together in order to get positive results.
No one in both of my family sort any kind of help but me,
so the results is a sad one. However, in not trying to take
their inventory all I can do is say I am more healthier today
some 20 yrs later in recovery than Ive ever been.
It Works If We Work It.
Hope you bowled a good sober game Kelly.
