7 days sober!!!!
Hi there - I have been reading the forums for quite some time to gain the strength to finally stop drinking!! I wanted to report that I am now 7 days sober and way too funny that my 7th day falls at the beginning of the weekend - BUT - my plans tonight are to drink water, jog with the dog and get some great relaxation time in. It was a rough week - day 1 and day 2 were horrible - but - the rest of the week got so much better. Currently: 1) I have way more energy, 2) I am not so puffy or bloated, 3) My thinking is clear and 4) I don't feel 'dizzy' like I did every day that I would wake up!!! Thanks to everyone on this board as you have all been my inspiration to do something that I have been wanting to do for so long!!!! Alex

Hi SoCal, Got 5 days here, after quitting every morning for years. Almost ran for the vodka about 4 hrs. ago. I don't try to avoid drink number 2 thru infinity anymore. Just stay away from # 1. Yeah, mornings sure are diffierent now. Good luck.

It's funny - I actually smelled the bottle of vodka a few times earlier in the week - not because I wanted to drink it - but to remind myself that the stuff smells like poison as it so certainly is poison!!!! I am excited about all of the great things to come week 2, week 3 and on.....!! Thanks again everyone for your support - you are all terrific!!!!
