Just checking in...
Hey everyone. I had my 6th and final interview yesterday for a job I hope to get. Felt like the weight of the world was on me yesterday and today I feel much better. It's crazy how a night of good sleep can kind of wash away the stress of the previous day now that I'm sober. I remember so vividly when I used to have days like yesterday how I'd need to "relax" with some drinks and it never made it better. I'm go grateful that I've learned other solutions to deal with life.
There's a guy that I've gotten to know in AA that says "If you're having a bad day, go to be earlier". I really like that.
I'm up and at it today - 131 days sober!!! I hope to have a good day at work and hit a meeting tonight. I hope everyone else is doing well!
Have a great day everyone!!!!

Good luck at the next job interview Reggie... it is SO much easier to deal with life without drinking. And congratulations on 131 days.
My mother used to tell me: "Things will look better in the morning." (Of course, when I was drinking, that sure wasn't the case!)
I'll be thinking of you and hoping you get the job...... Keep up the good work, reggie!

Tomorrow I'm going to that interview and know that my value as a potential employee or a person is not attached to the outcome. It's an interview for a job, not an inquisition. When I stay aware of that fine line between acceptance and change, everything else seems to take care of itself.

Thanks for the kind words guys and gals. You all help me so much. It's at times like these (when things are going well) that I cling to recovery more than ever. My history shows this is the time when I'm most vulnerable to that first drink. I went to a meeting tonight and feel great.
I wish you all the best!

Reggie, I can relate to you so much and was thinking about your posts tonight while I was watering the grass in the yard. My daughter was on her trike and I was really happy to be sober and really taking in the moment. In the past, I would have had a beer in one hand and a foggy mind worried about waking up hungover. I don't miss those days at all anymore. Thanks for your posts and I wish you ton of luck in your job hunt. Life is getting better everyday my friend.
Congratulations on the 131. The farther in I get the more I appreciate this time. The first week is tough and hard to get through but wow, if we can just make it through...it all starts to piece itself together.
I had an interview today, too and one tomorrow...I'm so looking forward to working, dealing with the public, living life...sober.
Such a good feeling. Glad you are doing so well. It is comforting for others to know there is great success in the stamina of just not taking that first drink.

Congrats on the interview and I hope you get the job! But I really wanted to thank you for being one of the first really positive posters in my journey. You are very perceptive. You'll be a benefit to any organization.
