Freedom from Slavery
The chemical slavery which comes from addiction. The body’s control over the mind. The disintegration of the “self”.

Hope
Hope needs no explanation. To call it “hope” says all that needs to be said.

Relief from Regret and from Shame.
Freedom from the ghosts of the past. The nightmare of what happened then and what might have happened if things had been otherwise.

Serenity
A troublesome word, often confused with complacency. Perhaps the best way to describe it is the wisdom which comes from realizing, finally, that some things will continue no matter what you might do to try to change them, As for the things which I can change, all I can do is to try to do my best.

Forgiveness of Myself and Others.

Meaning.
What is the point of it all? Why am I here? What was I meant to do and what remains to be done.?

I love your list, painter! I especially love that it's not about avoiding a DUI or liver disease (though that's part of it too!), but it's about the inner self, which we know can't grow when we're addicted.
