I am still green, and new here :)

Hello all, my name is Sean and my sobriety date is July 14, 2010. I am new here on these forums and still pretty new in recovery. I am a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and attend meetings several times a week. I have a sponsor who has a sponsor and he is currently guiding me the through the steps for my first time (I'm finishing my 9th step now.)

I came onto these forums because I was remembering what it was like detoxing last year at home, and feeling sick and scared and having forums like this that gave me hope. I've never been a contributor, just a lurker, so I figured why not come and carry the message and be a part of the community -- with hopes theat I can maybe help someone in need.

I'm almost 9 months clean and sober but still very raw in terms of my spiritual side and my connection with a higher power. I hope that I can learn from others here and also be of service to anyone seeking help.

Constant spiritual progress is my goal.... Spiritual progress and spiritual maintenance.

Thanks for reading!

Sean

Hi Sean,

Congratulations on your sober time and I'm glad you're here.

I found that the spiritual connection was crucial to my recovery, and I'm glad you are working on that aspect of your recovery. Have you read "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle?

Hello Anna I have not read that before... I really havn't been outisde of the Big Book and the 12 in 12. Literature is another piece of my program that has been lacking. My sponsor tells me I need to have at least been through the Big Book once before my 1 year... I have a lot of reading to do to finish lol.

Welcome, MrSean - glad you're in recovery and glad you joined the forum - it's a great community!

I'm just a month or two ahead of you and still take things one day at a time. I look forward to more of your posts!
