Our SR Christmas List

Have you started yours??

Before you know it we will be out there fighting the crowds! I wonder what all of us walking wounded would REALLY like to by for our dysfuntional family members!

I will start with new underwear for the Beav. He walked out of our house 2 weeks ago and left all of his cloths here. Ewwww!

How about one of those suitcases with wheels? I am sure he could put it to good use.

Oh and there is the traditional warm coat and gloves. If they had AC outlets under bridges I might consider an electric blanket!

Oh and for Beavette who doesn't have either parent....anything his little heart desires!

Next...

Ooo, I like this

Can we buy them anything?
For my dysfunctional mother...peace in her soul and a positive outlook on life. It would be nice to spend any amount of time with the woman that doesn't involve listening to her speak of doom, gloom and illness.
For Spicoli...well he is doing so well right now that I would just give him a gold star for all of his efforts. And a better paying job.
For the dysfunctional woman that I work with...a pair of glasses that could make her see how blessed she is. She is a walking, talking litany of complaints about her life. She can't see how good she's got it.
In general...I would purchase peace on Earth and good will towards men.
Gabe needs the winning lottery ticket so she doesn't have to do all her Christmas shopping at Target.
Peace,
Gabe

well - if A hasn't dipped into the Christmas fund...I would buy....

For my A mother - a talking mirror that every time she looked into it the mirror wouldn't deny the fact that she was an A and she would actually see how she looks like death warmed over. Then I would buy her a trash can for her to throw all her vodka bottles in instead of her stashing them all over her room.

For lil' sister - I would buy some self-confidence and reassurance in herself that she does NOT need a man to make her happy and that she is wonderful JUST THE WAY SHE IS!!!

For lil' brother - I HUGE gold star for the fact that he is 1+ year clean and sober and chasing recovery still harder than ever!!!!

For AH - some self-confidence that he is someone and that he can remain clean and sober despite what his head tells him and a huge eraser to erase all the past hurt that his father and mother have done to him all his life - parent's can be so uplifting. Oh - and a years supply of cig. to get him through his bad times so I don't have to keep going out every two days to get them.

For my precious dd - the world - she deserves it for what she has gone through these past 10 yrs!

For myself - peace and joy for my heart and a very-well desrved vacation from the entire family (excluding dd of course).

Oh what warm and fuzzy feelings the holidays stir up .

This sounds like fun and very therapeutic I might add. Perfect timing.

For my mother, a pair of rose colored glasses so she won't constantly be pointing out the things she sees about my life that are not perfect.

For my husband, a blow torch-so I can light it under his a$$ and get him the hell moving off the couch.

For my sister, a watch that has a hand that comes out a slaps her for every minute she's late showing up to a family function.

For my mother-in-law, I would get her a clue.

This is way too fun. I'll have to continue my shopping at a later date. I have a lot more dysfuntional people to buy gifts for

I would buy my husband a beautiful hand painted pot with a locking lid to put all his self pity in. I would also give him the gift of self worth.

I would give my daughter and son in law the world if I could for all their love and compassion. They are willing to turn their lives upside down to help me if it becomes necessary.

I hoping to give myself a winning lotto ticket so that I can purchase Christmas presents at all.

To Gabe - a share of my winning ticket!

And to all of you - a holiday season full of peace and joy. Boy, that sure is a BIG wish! If that is too much to wish for how about the ability to enjoy the moment because no matter how bad things are, there are always moments to enjoy and cherish. Those are the times that get us through.

Hugs, Jo

I am having a change this Christmas, since I find thinking about buying presents for others VERY stressful, and very expensive, so we have struck a deal.

YOU ALL buy yourselves something you REALLY want, and I will buy myself something I really want!!!

We will all still be together for Christmas dinner (God Willing) which I will cook, and the house will be decked out s usual, I just HATE all the commercialism of Christmas shopping.

We have no little kids in our family, so I don't seethe pint in buying stuff for others, not knowing what to buy etc. etc.

Gee, I hate shopping, but since I am going to have to do it anyway...

I will buy my son a doorstop, since he is presently in recovery and this will prevent the revolving door from spinning one more time....do ya think???

I will buy my wondercat, Toby, a cat door, so he can let himself in and out at will.

And if there are any clues left, I'd like one for my husband, who thinks it might be safe to buy my son a new watch....NOT.

Hugs

I'm going to buy a dose of reality....everyone in the family is getting the same thing this year!

I've heard there is a big run on truth serum so if anyone is interested you better get yours before the Thanksgiving holiday, it is sure to be a big seller this year.

I have decided to get myself a luggage rack to hold all my emotional baggage...it gets too heavy for me to carry.

AvieG, you have it right, buy something for yourself.

Incognito, forget the luggage rack, floor it and leave it all behind you scattered on the pavement and don't look back.

Me? I plan to buy the game CLUE and wrap it up and give it away to some friends of mine. I figure its the only way they will EVER get it, and even if they don't understand it's a nice gift.

There are also some people who should get the game TWISTER as a gift. They take the truth and twist it everywhich way anyways

This is a good thread. I'd like to get son#2 a healthy dose of self esteem with a REALITY check thrown in

For Son #1? a class in budgeting. $9 is NOT all the money in the world, contrary to popular belief. College is good. And his parents will PAY. hmmm

For my mom? The rose colored glasses or mirror previously mentioned. She is so very unhappy in her life and cannot begin to see how richly her life is blessed.

Thanks. HUGS to all

Osier

You've got me thinking about "Clue For Codies".
Was it...
Miss Denial, In the Kitchen, With the Empty Bottle?
Professor Proud, In the Library, Ignoring his Passed Out Wife?
Mrs. Enabler, In the Dining Room, Feeding her Hung Over Son?
Colonel Cover-Up, In the Conservatory, Phoning in Another Excuse?
Oh the games Codies play!
Peace,
Gabe

Ann

In "Clue" and "Clue For Codies", everyone gets their own secret "guess sheet". The real deal is...
It was me
In whatever room I'm in
Commiting a crime against myself
Thank God there are those secret passageways that lead us to a better tomorrow.
Peace,
Gabe

Gabe if you decide to branch out and make a Monopoly game make sure to add extra Call home from Jail Free Cards. The holidays are coming up!

Forget Park Place and Boardwalk....add Skid Row and a Dark Parking Lot.

Monopoly is great. And the card that says "Take a Ride on the Reading (railroad), could instead say "Take a Ride to Rehab, or spend 30 days in jail!!" And instead of owning utilities, they could be "shutoff" cards.

Oh, and let's add 'Sorry"....where we get to hear it said one more time as they knock us right off the board.

And my old favourite "Trivial Pursuit" and the "Addict" category question could read....

"If you find his stash in the closet, why was it there?

A) It must have belonged to the previous owner of the house.
B) It was from "before" and he just forgot about it.
C) You must have planted it there.
D) He was saving it, just as a test, to be sure he could not use.

Yup, add all these to my list.

Hugs

Too funny!

You guys cracked me up on this one! For *Clue* I think my choice would be Ms. Martyr, in the kitchen, with the cast iron skillet!
