Smile Saturday distraction

I always feel like drinking Saturday afternoons, but now I find going to SR keeps me 90% distracted from those urges, thank God.

Anyone else can relate? I hope so.

Well this is my first Saturday so far... =) I'm actually enjoying my morning but I know I need to get off my butt and clean this messy house...I keep getting up and looking at everything that needs cleaning and get instantly overwhelmed, sit down, and here I am again lol....

Distraction definitely helped me in the early days, too.

I started taking long walks after supper, which was a really hard time for me, and it helped me on so many levels.

I've had to go to a meeting every night, I feel like I'm ignoring my kids but honestly they're partly a trigger! LOL...just for now though...get some time under my belt and tackle that mess =) I love love love my kids btw...

Walking would also be good. However it's getting HOT out here in Phoenix...ARGH!

Early in my sobriety I used to walk the dogs to get rid of 'urges' and to distract myself. The dogs were quite disappointed when I got settled in and didn't go for so many walks. I too came here often to keep myself occupied and sober, it helped me so much.

Yes, SR is a lifesaver when it comes to filling up empty hours...I can definitely relate! Entertaining, educational, intriguing, and very useful in helping me get outside of my own head.

Agreed...I love reading the stories...good or bad...I don't feel so alone and many are very inspiring.

I'll be honest I have an internet addiction as well, used to play WoW, quit that a while back...so..yeah.

Honestly, I think SR saved my life.

Also, I have been known to stay up until 7 am on the internet because everything is so interesting and one topic leads to another.
